Safety Manager for a towing company with operations in IL,TX and FL
The Safety & Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring all towing operations are safe, compliant, and properly documented. This role oversees driver safety, DOT compliance, insurance coordination and incident management to reduce risk and protect the company.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce driver safety practices (PPE, roadside setup, safe towing procedures)
Conduct driver onboarding (license checks, MVRs, safety training)
Maintain Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) and compliance records
Track and manage CSA/safety scores and violations
Oversee DOT compliance (HOS, inspections, ELDs if applicable)
Investigate and document accidents, damages, and incidents
Handle and track insurance claims and work with providers
Ensure completion of daily truck inspections (DVIRs) and maintenance compliance with the assistance of the Driver Manager
Oversee or coordinate IFTA reporting (fuel and mileage tracking)
Maintain all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements
Partner with dispatch and operations to ensure safe job execution
Role will start as an office position and then we can see about going to a hybrid option when everything gets settled in
